Veritas Registrars: A Shareholder's Guide
Who Veritas Registrars is, why older documents say Zenith Registrars, how to tell whether it keeps the register for your shares, and what to prepare before contacting it.
Veritas Registrars Limited is a Nigerian share registrar, certified by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Nigeria to operate as a registrar. It was formerly known as Zenith Registrars. Who Veritas Registrars Is
According to its own history, the company was incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission on 7 May 2004 to carry on share registration business, and on 3 February 2005 obtained SEC certification to operate as a registrar under the Investment and Securities Act 1999. It describes itself as a one-stop company serving stakeholders in the capital market through people and technology.
Its website offers shareholders e-dividend payment directly into a bank account, an unclaimed dividends section, and a service to view or print a share account and check the status of a dividend payment.
Formerly Zenith Registrars
Veritas states on its website that it was formerly known as Zenith Registrars. Dividend warrants, certificates and letters from before the change may carry the Zenith Registrars name, and many shareholders still search for it. The records are the same: a holding recorded with Zenith Registrars for a company that still uses this registrar is now administered by Veritas.
Searching for Zenith Registrars? The registrar now trades as Veritas Registrars Limited. Registrar matters for Zenith Bank shares go to Veritas, not to a Zenith Bank branch.

As listed on Veritas Registrars' own website in 2026, its clients include Zenith Bank Plc, Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc, Guinness Nigeria Plc and May & Baker Nigeria Plc. For other companies, check the corporate information page of the latest annual report, the AGM proxy form or a recent dividend advice. What Shareholders Contact Veritas About
- Registering or changing an e-dividend mandate.
- Checking whether a dividend has been paid, and claiming unclaimed dividends.
- Updating a name, address, email, phone number or signature on the register.
- Viewing or printing a statement of a share account.
- Lost certificates and dematerialisation of paper holdings into a CSCS account.
- Transmission of a deceased shareholder's holding, with a grant of probate or letters of administration.
For dividends unclaimed for many years, Section 60 of the Finance Act 2020 provides for dividends unclaimed for six years or more to be transferred to the Unclaimed Funds Trust Fund, a point the SEC restated in June 2025. The registrar can confirm whether a particular payment is still held and how to claim it.
How to Contact Veritas Registrars
Use the official website, veritasregistrars.com, for forms, the share account and dividend status services, and current contact channels. The annual report of the company you hold shares in also names the registrar. Treat unsolicited offers to recover dividends for a fee with caution.
What to Prepare

- The companies concerned.
- Any account number from Zenith Registrars or Veritas correspondence, and your CHN.
- A valid government-issued photo ID and BVN.

- For a mandate, an account in the shareholder's own name.
Name mismatches between the register and a bank account are a frequent reason for failed dividend payments. Our guide to updating your details with a share registrar explains how to correct them before submitting a mandate.
