Who This Is For

This page explains how to close a personal Shares Saver account and have your personal details deleted. Closing a personal account does not affect any business profile. If you want to close a business profile, email support@sharessaver.com.

How to Close Your Account

In the Shares Saver app: sign in, open Account, then Settings → Close my account. You’ll be asked to confirm with your password.

On the website: sign in and go to Settings → Close Account. Type CLOSE to confirm, then confirm once more.

Your account closes as soon as you confirm. There is no waiting period.

If You Can’t Sign In

Email support@sharessaver.com from the email address registered to your account, with the subject Close my account. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we close it, so that nobody else can close your account for you.

Shares You Still Hold

If you still hold shares, you need to sell them or transfer them to another broker before you close your account. We can’t hold shares for a closed account, and we can’t sell them without your instruction. You may also want to download your statements and contract notes first, because you lose access to them when the account closes.

What Happens When You Close

• Your account is closed immediately.
• You’re signed out on every device.
• Any active regular contributions are cancelled and your saved cards are removed, so nothing further is charged.
• You can’t sign in, or register again, with the same email address.
• We send a confirmation to your email address.
• Marketing emails stop.

What We Keep and for How Long

If you made payments through Shares Saver, we keep the records of those transactions — your orders, payments, contract notes and the identity details needed to support them — for 6 years from the date your account is closed. The law requires us to keep them for tax and legal reasons. They are not used for marketing, and are deleted when that period ends.

If you never made a payment, your personal details are deleted on request.
