Nigerians in Finland investing in Nigerian stocks

Finland has a small but established Nigerian community, with many Nigerians living in Helsinki and other cities as students, healthcare professionals, and technology workers. Shares Saver provides a way to maintain a formal financial connection to Nigeria by owning NGX-listed shares registered directly in your legal name — all managed digitally from Finland.

Funding from Finland: use your Nigerian bank account

Finnish bank accounts (EUR) cannot be used to fund Shares Saver directly. You will need your Nigerian bank account. Use a remittance service to transfer EUR to your Nigerian naira account, then fund your investment from there.

Finnish tax considerations

Finnish residents pay income tax on worldwide income to Verohallinto. Foreign investment income and dividends from Nigerian shares may be taxable in Finland. Shares Saver does not provide tax advice — consult a Finnish tax adviser before investing.
